Travelers of the World:

Portugal was the first to arrive in DRC, but did not colonize them completely, but discovered great raw materials for trade. However, they traveled to other parts of the world to colonize, like Indonesia.

More on the Downfall:

After Independence, DRC went through a major downfall. Here is a blog with a lot of information on the events that occurred after 1960.
